We hebben ontzettend lang over de reis gedaan want er waren heel veel files. (It took a long time to complete the trip because there were a lot of traffic jams.)  

Ik heb me goed voorbereid op een weekendje Zwitserland. (I have prepared well for a weekend in Switzerland.)

Het was allesbehalve mooi weer vandaag. Sommige mensen worden er chagrijnig van. (It was anything but nice weather today, Some people get grumpy.)

André Hazes is nog steeds razend populair. (André Hazes is still very popular.)

Ik had jarenlang een anonieme OV chipkaart maar dat bleek toch niet handig. (I had an anonymous OV chip card for years, but it turned out not to be useful.)

Je moet een beetje met je tijd meegaan. (You have to keep up with the times.)
