Dit is een boom. Eén. (This is a tree. One.)

Het is eigenlijk groente: boerenkool. Maar ik vind het een prachtige plant. Zonde om op te eten. Al moet ik toegeven dat ik wel boerenkool eet, maar dat koop ik in de winkel. (It is actually a vegetable: kale. But I think it is a beautiful plant. A shame to eat. Although I must admit that I do eat kale, but I buy it in the store.)

Sommige mensen willen Jip en Janneke uit de bibliotheken weren, vanwege achterhaalde denkbeelden over man-vrouwverhoudingen. In de Amsterdamse bibliotheek is het er nog. (Some people want to keep Jip and Janneke out of the libraries, because of outdated views on gender relations. It is still there in the Amsterdam library.)

Ik heb boeken in de kast die ik nog niet heb gelezen. (I have books in the bookcase that I have not read yet.)

Ik had niet door dat het vandaag Blue Monday was, en ik had nergens last van. (I didn't realize it was Blue Monday today, and I wasn't bothered by anything.)

Ik ben nog steeds niet naar de Suriname tentoonstelling in de Nieuwe Kerk geweest. Daar moet ik echt nog snel naar toe voordat hij is afgelopen . (I still haven't been to the Suriname exhibition in the Nieuwe Kerk. I really have to get there quickly before it is finished.)

In Nederland moet vóór 6 januari, Driekoningen, de kerstboom weg zijn. (In the Netherlands, before January 6, Epiphany, the Christmas tree must be gone.)

Vandaag heb ik geen boodschappen gedaan. Nou , dan doe ik het morgen maar . (Today I didn't do any grocery shopping. Welp, then I'll just do it tomorrow.)

Ondanks de vele incidenten tijdens de jaarwisseling komt er geen vuurwerkverbod. (Despite the many incidents during the New Year there will be no fireworks ban.)
